Didnt stay at Klub Kokos but walked up there one day and had lunch and a look at accommodation. It most definitely caters for families, though the games room they advertise is very small . When we there last October/Nov there were lots of young kids in the pool which had some little slides etc and it was a nice scene. You would most definitely be forgoing the Balinese feel. The rooms were big and clean enough but a tad institutional and utilitarian for me.
The location is nice but we carried our four-year- old for stretches-it took about 20-25 mins from beginning of track(so from town another 10-15 mins). Realistically I wouldnt do it as the main mode of transport in and out-too hot midday - but the walk along the ridge is really pretty to do once or twice.
We also stayed three nights at Honeymoon and I'm sorry to say that I'm not a big fan. Avoid Arjuna A and B , which they sell as a family suite, at all cost, imo: I found it airless, lacking windows and natural light and smelt extremely dank (and I'm a fan of a certain degree of mouldy tropical odours!).
The pool area is faded but charming.
The second room we had was much bigger and better but with the same design concept-little, decorative vents where windows might be and big, castle-style doors which just made me feel like I was locked in a dungeon. Having said that I know people who wont stay anywhere else and it too is very child-friendly. Lots of kids staying here. and within very comfortable reach of town.
My pick is any of the Alam's (Shanti, Indah, Jiwa). Glorious. But they are getting so dear.Happy picking.
