How polite are the Balinese? Well, I'll tell you a little story. Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin.
One day my frirends Lou, Vick, two other couples and I went to the magic cemetrey at Tyrun ( is that spelt right?) where bodies are neither buried or cremated. There is no smell and no insects. This strange place is a boat ride accross the lake at the bottom of mount Batur.
After that we had lunch in a restraunt with fantastic views of the volcano. Came the time when us ladies had to go to the 'ladies'. to get there we had to go down steep narrow steps. I struggled a bit because of a leg injury from a motor bike accident many years ago. One of the waiters tapped me on the shoulder. "Mam, you can use this one." there was a toilet at the top of the steps that no one had noticed. "Thanks, my leg is giving me a problem"
"No, Mama, becuase you already got long life"
What a sweet way to say "you are an old duffer" hehehehhehe
