'there are no rules'! None that I've seen anyway. You won't get a taxi with a car seat. Can take your own but I don't know that you would be able to securely attach it. I've always just held the kids but this obviously wouldn't be safe in an accident. If you search baby seat in the archives you will find several posts re drivers that have baby seats. Here's just one that I remembered:

My Driver has a child / baby seat - Info

Alot of queries on the forum regarding child seats etc. Many BTF have emailed me and I hope you have received my responses and I havent overlooked anyone. The seat is to AUS standards and is a reversable baby to toddler. My stepdaughter aged 2 1/2 thought it was great and I thank BTF folk that have given me positive feed back.
For those that are further interested the Details are:

Driver: Putu Sanjaya : Modern Kijang A/C Vehicle also with seat belts.
Normal parking spot is outside the Jayakarta Hotel in Legian. He will go anywhere in Bali.

Email: putu.sanjaya30@yahoo.co.id
Always allow a few days for a reply.

Text from AUS:+62 81 338 642 482

We plan to take a booster seat over at Xmas for him as well.

He does not belong to a "company" and so engaging him directly supports his young family.
Regards
Jan
