We had to do the exact same thing yesterday re our April visit
We had originally booked our April flights for Bali via KL. We decided to fly direct to Bali but keep our return journey via KL with airasia as we are also going to Phuket.
We rang them and they said just don't show - No Charge and also our "return" journey would not be cancelled. She also said that once we complete our travel we can apply for a refund of airport taxes for our "missed" flight.
As we haven't actually flown yet I can only tell you what we were told on the phone yesterday.
