but you do need to check that your phone is "unlocked" by your Australian provider if you are locked into a particular company. Once in Bali we found Mentari to be very cheap for calling or texting Australia. You dial 0101661 then your Aus. area code minus the 0. For texts I used +61 then the mobile number minus the 0. I have heard others saying they use a different prefix for texting but I found +61 very cheap. Maybe there is another prefix for texting that is super super cheap?
