Hi Johnny, Yes this was tried on me last September. I was bringing home the undrunk portion of my duty free single malt scotch. As Scotty said, stick to your guns and they will back down. I told them I would require a receipt and they tried to save face by wrapping some duct tape around the cork. When you think about it there is plenty of unsealed alcohol on the drinks trolleys in the cabin. Half a bottle of scotch in someones suitcase in the hold is certainly not a hazard. As far as I know customs in Oz do not include it in your allowance. They are only concerned with unopened DF items.
