Believe me, the kids know what they want. Just ask what they would like and then go from there. Ask your sponsored kids and then they will feel so proud when you arrive with gifts for others that were their idea. Also, I am not sure where these kids are located, but if it is a traditional village, try to think of these things when making your decision:
1. will it end up as waste (ie plastic packaging)?
2. Does it fit with Balinese traditions?
3. Can it be shared with the other children in the village?

If you cannot ask them then my suggestion as the boys in my village are football mad (soccor to Aussies) is get soccor balls for the boys to share (available here in Bali) and small little hard rubber balls for the girls, the ones that bounce on any surface. This way they can play together and it does not matter if you did not give each individual an gift.

If they already have soccor balls, the boys will probably want soccor outfits, I am begged for them by 70 smiling faces every week.
