I get the Autan splash on and rarely ever been bitten, usually when I've gone out without putting it on. Last trip I found some cute little spray bottles of 'anti-nyamuk' (mossie repellent) that fit in even the smallest shoulder bag, so always had some with me. I think they were about Rp1500 each at Carrefour. A box of mozzie coils is really cheap - well under a dollar from memory. I also get the plug in liquid mozzie stuff for the room and it lasts the 4 weeks I stay.
