For those who don't remember the area before it was developed, it would be impossible to distinguish the difference between Kuta and Legian when travelling down Jln Legian.
The border is Jln Melasti. Poppies II is in Kuta, not Legian.
People just have different preferences as to what they want on a holiday. Personally, I have bypassed Bali for years for the quieter life on Lombok. Even Ubud and Penestanan gives me the poops these days - it's just too noisy. It's a personal preference and my ideal holiday would be dead boring to many others. The lovely thing is, there is something for everyone in the region.
