Once I stayed at a 50.000 rupiah pn hotel in 2000, the location was near the airport, I couldn't recall the name, but its in Jalan Raya Kuta near the crossroad with a statue at its center.
Of course, do not expect a fully air conditioning system inside the room. But it was spacious enough to put your luggages and it's clean.
Other cheap hotel at the time was Bali Dwira in Legian, it's slightly above 40.000 though. I've been there, too.
I think when your body is in good condition, your stamina is high, it's okay to sleep anywhere, even in a shack on Kuta Beach or inside a Toyota minivan in front of Hard Rock hotel.
