Make no mistake U must take runners. The ride you are going on has a few corners and if U come into them to quick and do not know how to handle them you will come off. The runners will protect your feet not thongs or other types without cover.
If U want just buy them there as they will not cost much for the cheap ones and leave them with someone. It is the same as riding a motorcycle without a full face helmat if U come off the face is gone and without runners the feet are gone.
