Bluebird taxis MUST use their meters from their company, if they do not you can inform and complain at the company.
Many of the grey, white and other colors of taxis will try to arrange a (too high) fixed price for the trip.
If ie you take a taxi in the night at jl dyana pura (ie in front of Santa Fe Bar) all taxis are suddenly switched to a fixed price of 50.000 rp for a trip to tuban, they all are NOT bluebird-taxis.
If you are lucky and a bluebird taxi drives by, you go on the meter and the trip will cost you 35000 rp.
So i always take the light-blue (blue-bird) taxis or the dark-blue taxis (aircon)
