I explored this subject in a great amount of detail as my husband is a very avid fisherman. We considered him doing the fishing charters that are offered (just do a web search and you will see PLENTY pop up for Bali), but it was a lot of money and at the end of the day he couldnt really keep the fish because we were staying in a hotel - granted we could have asked a hotel chef to cook it, but still. The cost is almost the same as home and after we weighed it all up, we deemed it not worth it. Having said that, to go out with a local in their little boats would be a better option and far more cost effective.
