I have transferred from Westpac to a number of countries over the years and never a problem. Firstly check your Westpac internet site to see if you have international transfers enabled. If so, have a go, if too nervy then get a branch to do it. If the money get's lost in cyberspace they are responsible for finding it for you - it has never happened to me personally but a company I worked for had money go missing and it was tracked down within a few days. Once a hotel in Indonesia gave me the wrong account number and the Indonesian bank sent it back to Westpac - it cost money of course to do again but the system worked. Good luck.
