Hi Victoria, I traveled last April by myself for the first time, as usually always go with family or friends, however i stayed over in Sanur for the first week (Puri Kelapa Hotel) then Suri Wathi hotel in Garlic lane in Legian. This hotel was perfect for anyone on their own as its close to restaurants, bars and shopping and you dont have to venture far at night to get anywhere. Its a a small hotel with great friendly staff, i think its perfect for a solo traveller. I never felt alone always someone to talk to. The hotel Gaye suggested is only around the corner and would also be a great location for anyone on their own. Its not Kuta,but its not far away and only a taxi ride in. I think any hotel in this vicinity would suit your needs. You will be fine, have a great trip. Trish.
