I just bought a new macbook pro last Saturday, and the power plug will have the Indonesian 2 round prongs on the end, not the Australian type.
If you make a purchase over 10million with a credit card. They will need extra ID after they have swiped your credit card, a passport will do fine. Because they ring the local visa office (mine was a visa) to check on the name etc)
I have had shops reject my credit card before because its a UBS bank Visa and basically nobody has heard of that bank in Indonesia. Once I give them extra ID... they are fine with that.
Make sure you can get an international warranty for the computer.
Make sure you see them take the computer out of the box and put it back in, have heard of them swapping computers in the back room and selling a dud.
Try and ask if they'll give you any freebies... a carry bag, a mouse, or some software.
Shop around... the macbook pro was priced differently in 3 different shops.... try and find one that will give u the best deal possible.
Prices will be different to what they show you in the brochures, brochures have USD prices only.. once the conversion is done, it will be different again, due to the exchange rates....
My purchase was made in Jakarta, not Bali, but I have a feeling the procedure will be pretty similar.
