A quick report

Took advantage of Virgin super specials for our 5th trip, Me, Wife to be and Miss 2.5y/o

Flew Virgin Mel-Adl-Dps 16th February.
Great flight and the stop at Adelaide was very 'no fuss' and easy, was nice to stretch the legs for an hour, sooo much better than flying via Sydney (Nightmare).

Arrived in Bali nearly an hour early (first time for everything) and were met by our friends who normally come to pick us up.

Off to Dewi Sri Hotel.

We've only ever travelled to Bali in August so straight away noticed it was far less busier which was nice.
It's also far less humid in August too!! (note: combat humidity with Bintang)

Dewi Sri hadn't changed since we were there 6 months ago (didn't really expect anything different i s'pose).

Our room was one of the newer ones this time but still very much the same right throughout. Budget but clean and comfortable.
Staff were very good and prompt soting out the odd little problems that are always part of a trip to Bali.
Brekky is still very basic (eggs, two fruits, toast and juice) but we tend to go out for brekky half the time so it's no biggie.

We used this short trip to sort out a few bits and pieces for our wedding in August at the Niksoma. As we are not using a wedding planner it was handy to discuss aspects with the staff at Niksoma, meet our photographer who we found on the net and decide on a venue for our reception.

With that out the way, we spent a day at Waterbom - we all love it! I think this is a must for anyone, it's a very well kept operation that they run there.

Did some browsing at Discovery and Carrefour, didnt really buy much. My fiance bought some converse for about $35 and a couple of pairs of shoes for the little one.
Also bought some snacks from BreadTalk ( i cant walk past that place)

We ate at many lovely places - some of the better ones;

Gateway to India
Seaside (Blue Ocean Beach)
Maccaroni
Ketupat (indo - yum)
SkyGarden
Chasers (best Pizza - all rp26,000)
Surfer Bar Restaurant (apache BAR)
Breeze

Went to Espresso Bar a couple of nights, that place is great fun, live bands they have are fantastic and the staff are great fun too.
Went and had a look at the foam party in the Bounty and that was pretty funny to watch.

Reunion Bar in Troppozone Lane is always good for a couple of drinks, they do Karaoke there most nights too.

We stop in at Troppozone most days for a beer also as we have many friends there and that place is very quiet now. It's a shame because the staff are really great.

Apart from all that, the only other exciting thing to happen was me causing us to miss the plane.
I got my days mixed up and got caught out by the flight leaving just after midnight.
My interpretation was that we were leaving Bali Monday(night) when in actual fact it was very early Monday morning. D!ckhead!
Costly mistake. I'm such a complacent traveller but have never done that before....

The weather was great, but hot. Only rained two nights but boy, did it piss down.

rp was around 7700 most of the time and after checking my online banking that was exactly what i was getting through the ATM (plus a $4 withdrawl charge).

Also met some lovely people from this forum, Randey, GeorgeC, Kerry and others.
Thanks for all saying Hi!

Well that's it until August when i'm officially off the singles list ;)

Simon
