For Perth-KL-DPS travellers

how did you do your carry on duty free for Bali.
Did you buy in Perth, and carry through LCC terminal at KL (LAGS problem??) or did you buy in KL and carry on from there??
(Or did you buy in Perth and pack in suitcase??)
