My husband who is Indonesian, goes by motorcycle to the office everyday in Jakarta. He was wearing a leather jacket made in Bali at Lembi leather and it saved him from grazes on his arm.
Basically he was riding and a guy sped past him on a motorcycle as well, and the passengers hand bag (on the other bike) caught on my husbands bikes handlebars (thats how close he was) and my husband was dragged off by this and went basically head first into the road.
He only came out with a dislocated shoulder, we think his jacket saved him from grazes and the helmet saved his face when he went head first off the bike.
The 15year old child who was riding the other bike did a runner, however some onlookers took off after him and brought him back.
