I declared on the paperwork they give you on the plane that I had 12 bottles of white wine and paid $90 for (I paid alot more)anyhow I out the alcohol on the over size belt the ones that the prams etc go on at Perth it arrived safe came out the same carousel as the bags. I lined up handed my paperwork over showed them my 2 litres of scotch and the 12 bottles of wine they took me into a little room and told me excess was 370% I said nothing he said I would have to pay and I said no problem I open my wallet in front of him I had exactly $90 AUD in it and a visa card. I said he could have the $90 or I would pay by visa he did ask me to go to ATM I said my card is visa and can not get cash out. So he took the $90 signed the form and off I went one very happy bunny!! I emailed friends who were coming the next day and they did them same and had no problems I think if you are honest pay a hal decent amount and stick to you guns you will be fine, there is a huge shortage of all alcohol over here so I would bring it in!!
