if that happens it will be even more difficult to prove, if you get a counterfeit note out of an ATM and present it to the bank I'm not sure they'll believe you. Also aside from the fee per withdrawal the exchange rate is not normally as good. If you use a credit card for cash advance or purchases be aware that some financial providers will convert your IDR to USD and then to AUD so you lose in 2 exchange rates. It's best to check with your bank before you go.
