Hi, Walk out of your hotel on to Legian st, look for a blue bird taxi (they have meters)and ask him to take you to Matahari at Kuta square. it could cost you about 10'000 rp then on the ground floor is a large supermarket with everything you need. watch out for the sunscreen though as it is very expensive.
Then either walk back and say NO thanks to everyone :) or get a cab back. You will soon get the hang of the haggle.
