- don't be loud or obvious or get in anyone's face, either local or another tourist (who could well be more dangerous than a local).
Don't have anything to do with drugs or over-indulge in alcohol.
Be sensitive to local culture and mores. Take as much care as you would in your home town; no more, no less.
You are about to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime sensory experience. Even if you return to Bali at some time the first impressions of heat, humidity, noise, closeness, smell, sounds - all never again will be sharper than this first time.
Parents! Have they ever been to Mexico for a holiday (or maybe even Califonia?) - a third world country many would believe.
Be alert, stay alert, soak it all in and ENJOY.
