If you want tasty food at really cheap prices try Obonk on Jalan Setiabudi No 19, Kuta.
Their Tag line is "Rasa bintang lima, harga kaki lima" which translates as "5 star taste, food cart price"
Since I first discovered it we have eaten there 5 times, when we have been out and about to Carrefour or Kuta. It's not a fancy tourist restaurant. They have plastic table cloths and plastic chairs and I dont think they serve alcohol, so maybe worth trying for lunch.
A steak/chicken hotplate costs around Rp15,000. The portions arent massive but a side order of fries is Rp7000, or rice Rp2,500.
Our last meal there came to Rp71,000 for
2 x Chicken mushroom hotplate
Side order of fries,
Chicken strips,
4 mixed juices (delicious strawberry and melon juice)
3 ice creams.
We used to have lunch in KFC on shopping days but this beats it by far for taste and price and is fast service too.
