if you purchase a deal through flight centre, there is no way that the hotel can refund on the ground. you purchase the package through flight centre, and they then pay the wholesaler who pays the hotel.
the hotel is not in a position to give any refunds on the ground at all.
if you feel you are entitled to a refund, you must go through your agent back in australia, but you should contact them whilst you are here to give them a heads up.
i believe that flight centre clients have a number here for their ground handler, Destination Asia, who can assist them in times of need. you can contact them, but i believe that you do need to go through your agent in australia to change the hotel.
you should get your agents phone number and email address before traveling.
