Snakes have always constricted and killed other animals and if we think of the many millions of snakes in the world having done this for many millions of years your distress at the sight of one doing what come naturally could be overdone. The snake is also an animal and the event made its day. Many wildlife carers encourage an injured snake back to health by offering live food.
