The traffic - no rules its seems, the hassles of vendors ( newbies have neon signs on their foreheads) and the heat is usually what impacts first up. I loved reading your report.
Most people are not conditioned to tropical heat. Its a energy sapping experience.
I found in Thailand and Ive only been to a tiny part - Phuket the wining cat noises of " massage & ??" in your face more annoying.
