We have stayed at both hotels and now always stay at MBR purely because of location. Both are on the beach but MBR has great walk path back into Melasti St so dont have to walk on the streets. Also the area around the BGH is a lot busier probably seemed so because you had to walk along the main road out the front to get anywhere, whereas Melasti neighbourhood easier for walking around.
both hotels are not 5 star but good value for money hotels so depends which area you'd rather be...Tuban or Legian.
