to Bali with garuda and it was under A$100 on way (thru our hotel ).Jogja is amazing - we loved it. The people are so friendly and respectful and there is lots to do. You just have to treat yourself to a few nights at the Grand Mercure it is absolutely stunning and very well priced. Get a deluxe room overlooking the pool - fabulous !!!
Also stayed at the Melia Purosani - good position and ok rooms.Great breakfast and pool.Asia rooms sell it for about A$110 includ bfst.
Dusun Jogja Village inn is in a great spot near lots of good cheap restaurants and is Balinse style - gorgeous but in the middle of 3 mosques who compete with each other at 3 am - so not a lot of sleep to be had :(
Make sure you visit the water palace, Borobodur and Prambanan - all breathtaking......I would go back tomorrow...the Javanese are heavenly people. Have fun and any questions fire away. Also went to Bundung, Bogor and Jakarta.
