We stayed at Kumala Panta, but did go down to Kuta/Tuban quite a bit.
November is the latest in the year I have ever been to Bali, was slightly quieter than September but assumed this was because we were not in the main tourist season. September is my favourite time to visit Bali, I found November to be quite a bit more humid.
