Forgot to put in my JBR, that our friend daughter got an ear infection and we had to take here to the bali medical centre, they were fantastic, better service than over here, and so clean, it cost $135.00 for visit and medication (3 lots) and they gave a detailed reciept for insurance. Only the rich and tourist go here because of the cost.

I do live in Bandung, West Java, and it is quit expensive here. We are using a new Hospital (Grup RS Boromeus) one of the best, like a 5 star hotel
I went for an ear infection and with the medication and consultation only paid 270.000rp
One more thing: If you want to become a member of BIMC (this is for people who live in Bali) for a family will cost you 7.000.000rp per year and when you read the 'what you get for this' you'll find out that it is very little, more or less only some free consultations and some discount. So if you are a member and you will need to go for an ear infection it will cost you very little less.
My opinion is that they are charging MUCH over the top only because they are in Bali and it is NOT fair, foreigner or not foreigner.
I have been to Bali many times and I will move to Bali very soon but I will not...............if I get the chance.

The bottom line is: IF YOU ARE A MEMBER an ear infection maybe will cost you $120.00 instead of $135 (plus 6.700.000 member ship). If you compare with the hospital in Bandung you'll see the difference;
$ 120 x11.500rp = 1.380.000, Bandung 275.000. The difference is 1.105.000 and I don't have to pay 6.700.000 per year.
Evacuation is only good if you will use it, but if the can operate or whatever in Indonesia the evacuation is as good as nothing. You don't get much for 6.700.000
