Make sure you have an address with street no.
Do your friends have a mobile phone so you can text them to let them know there is a parcel on the way.
I have sent many letters and parcels to my friend in Bogor in West Java over the years and all have been received.
Though we had a scare a long time ago when I sent a letter with money and then before that was received, I sent a parcel of clothing.
Nothing turned up for a long time compared to the past, but because my friend was expecting the letter and the parcel he went around to all the Post Offices in Bogor- 3 in total.
I have no idea what he told them, but miraculously the two items turned up a few days later all in tact.
My friend always pays the post man about 10,000 rupiah every time he delivers a parcel which I am sure has helped with our delivery success.
