Have always survived! My brother in law goes to Bali at least twice a year and always takes 1 or 2, 4lt casks, out of the box,and flat in his case.
He has never had one burst.I cant do it as I feel like a criminal at customs and its sods law I will get caught with being over the wine limit!
I would put it in a couple of large vacume seal bags and Gaffa it to be sure.
