Xmas is largely a western theme. The Balinese love to decorate and party.
NY is the biggy. It get loud, very loud and goes on for a few days leading up to and the night.
Most of the streets close down and street parties everywhere. Usually a big party and music on the beach.
All Balinese that were born before birth records all celebrate their Bday on this day.
A lot of hotels have a compulsory pay for dinner. You dont have to attend but must pay.
Most restaurants have big parties.
NY day is very quiet on the streets, everyone sleeps the day away. Some shops open, some forget to open:))
Once there find a place you know will serve nice food and book in.
Moving around the island is done on foot, so dont go miles for a meal you don't want to have to walk home from.
