Continued from my earlier one
Day 6
awake early for our last breakfast at this hotel (discovery kartika)
then finish packing and settling the bill.
Transfer arrived an hour early, which was a bit annoying.
Off to spend 5 Days at the Nusa Dua beach hotel. Heard some not too good things about this place, so we were a bit nervous, but it was AMAZING.
On arrival we were treated like royalty. We had booked a palace club room and once arrived they informed us we were upgraded to a palace club suite, which was lovely.
Given welcome drinks and a fruit basket.
Once we checked out the suite and finished drooling over it, we went for a walk downstairs to an ATM and looked at the hotel shopping arcade. Expensive but bought a few things.
Had lunch at one of the restaurants at the hotel.
Then went for a walk along the beach and booked a glass bottom boat for Monday.
Then headed off for afternoon tea in the palaca club. Such a nice treat.
Back to the room for some R and R, then ready for evening cocktails and food in the palace club. I only drank as there was not one vegetarian Hourderve (or however its spelt!)
We then headed off to the Balinese restaurant at the hotel. Different food, but it was lovely.
Day 7
off to palace club for breakfast. delicious banana pancakes.
then a 9am pickup for the safari park.
This was my favourite day by far.
took a long time to get there, arrived around 10am. no wait, no crowds and hardly any ppl. Had photo's with the white tiger, lion, McCaw and the orangutang. spent 5 hours wondering around! also, how good are the water spray things to stay cool!!
Spent a fortune at the shops buying gifts for everyone!
Back to Nusa Dua, order room service and crash!!
Day 8
After breakfast we book a car to Kuta.
Decide today is the day to get my tattoo done.
Never had one before, so a bit nervous, but had already booked at Charlie's Angels tattoo's on poppies 1.
The owner is a lovely Australian man by the name of John (hi if you are reading this!) and had been emailing a few weeks before just to check everything.
we arrive at the place after getting rather lost (thanks to the fellow australian who walked us there!) Chalev (charlie) was busy at his other studio, so we organise to come back in 2 hours after some lunch and shopping. Buy lots at the shops along poppies and then have lunch at the Havana Club, who did an excellent Vegie Burger!
Back to Charlie's Angels, and feeling a bit nervous.
Chalev drew up the design (a gorgeous frangipani) as i wanted something to remind me of the magic of Bali.
The studio was absolutley spotless clean and as good as places in Australia. I fully recomend it!!
Anyway, we get ready to start, still feeling nervous, but Chalev promises me it isn't going to hurt. The tattoo takes maybe 20 minutes and it is PERFECT! exactly what i wanted. Whislt it's still healing now, it looks gorgeous!!
We leave the tattoo place, with all the locals running up for a look at my new tattoo. Organise cheap transport off the street back to Nusa Dua (and stopping off for some Bepanthen for the tat)
back to the hotel and dinner at one of the restaurants.
Day 9
Car to Kuta again (becoming a habbit)
Spend 2 hours shopping in Matahari's (also buy a new suitcase to take all the shopping back home in)
Then off to the spa at the Melasti. Where we were pampered for 5 wonderful hours!
Had my hair done,A Massage, pedicure, manicure, avocado facial, and numerous body parts waxed all for roughly $150 BLISS!!!
then walk up the road to Discovery mall and buy more top up for the phone at the electronics store. Got extra extra cheap transport back to nusa dua. After spending all day at the spa, we were starving, so have dinner at the italian restaurant at the hotel. Very nice.
back to the hotel and start realising we are nearly at the end of our stay.
Day 10
Late breakfast, then a nice long walk along the beach.
Go back and get changed, ready for the glass bottom boat.
Lady in the palace club checks our flights for tomorrow and what time we will be picked up. Find out that its leaving early, by an hour.
Head down to the beach to find our boat, and the fun starts. The poor mother could barely get in the boat, and we booked an hour tour, but lasted half an hour as she was throwing up!!! have some fabulous photos that are hillarious!
back to the room and pack. weigh our luggage and its way way over. Decide to try our luck and see what happens at the airport.
Spend our last night having cocktails and dinner on the beach. Really really dont want to be leaving.
Day 11
awake for an early breakfast, and thank everyone in the palace club as they trully where lovely.
finished packing and know we are WAY over.
Our transfers arrive and we head to the airport. Check in and they dont even mention that we are nearly 10kg over, each!
Head off to the Dewa Lounge for a few hours of drinks and food.
it was 11am, but never too early for Bintang.
Head to the flight and board. So sad to have left, but this has definatley been the best trip yet.
Can't wait to head back in october!
