We arrived home Friday evening after six nights in Bali. Personally,we all felt extremely safe although we didn't venture far at night - just to local restaurants. Perhaps you could suggest to your child that he/she stays within the hotel area at night. There's usually loads to do and plenty of entertainment for all ages. Hope this helps.
