Much better/easier to look around once you are in Bali & do the legwork or ask around from there.
(Unless of course you know someone there that can search for you ahead of time.)
Perhaps book somewhere budget to start with, then start your search.
Have leased in Bali previously for 18 months & have family members which have just booked longer term accommodation at different places for 3(+) months.
For each of these someone in Bali organised it as it was difficult to do from here, especially for lesser known/cheaper places.
Many are also fully booked up until early New Year.
Depends what you are after, budget, area etc
