It is a beautiful set up - especially at night with all lounges along the beachside where you can lounge and have drinks. Beautiful restaurant, great service - food is a bit expensive for Bali - but not by Aussie standards. Was there in April and my sister and I paid about $50 per head for 2 cocktails each plus bread, shared entree and a really good main meal. WOuldn't get that quality here in Oz - cocktails would have been $30 alone each! There were kids there the night we were there - but it is not really a kids place. There was a wedding party there too - it is very popular with the 'cool' people. The bathrooms are amazing and overall it is worth visiting at least once. The other place I recommend - and love more than Ku De Ta - is Hu'u Bar and Restaurant - the atmosphere here is even better - it is just up the road from Ku De Ta - address is Jl Oberoi, Petitenget, Kerobokan - ph 0361 736 443. I LOVED this place - not as pretentious and a little cheaper but still great food and beautiful setting. I have actually booked to go here with friends this coming New Year's Eve. Give that a go too - you will not be disappointed.
