Hi ya we stayed at Jayakarta in Jan this year and every 3 days we went to the hut out front and got a lovely guy called "Jackie" (and a few others sometimes) to take us to bingtang supermarket. He waited in the carpark whilst we shopped. We never paid more than 50 or 60,000 as it was only a 1 hour jaunt. It was way too hot to be doing the walk and nice to have someone waiting for you.
There were 7 of us from 8yr thru to 17 and we got our cereal, milk, bread and butter from here. My kids are always up by 6am and want breaky way before the restaurants open so it was easier to just have stuff available for them to eat in the room. We did have a nice big fridge which helped i guess. The kids were happy with finding some of their favourites like coco pops and lots of other choices but I would bring your own weetbix.
My family hate long life milk and the Bingtang supermarket sells it in the back - where the fresh fruit and veges live - they sell 'fresh' milk in cartons so we got half dozen each visit.
Their bread was fascinating to the kids as some of it was coloured green and yellow but there was 'normal' as well. We took nutella and vegemite from home.
We brought big bags of crisps/chips and kid type junk snacks and all our drinks from here and it kept the crew happy especially on long scenic drives. We didnt stress too much about prices as hey your on holiday and its still all cheapish !!
Have great time.... Im very jealous
