Arrived back on Monday from 16 days of pure bliss!! After 2 trips last year, it has been a long wait since December to get back over there. This time, first trip for our whole family, 9 year old, 13 and 17 + 17 best friend. Garuda as usual, great flight, great people and the holiday was off to a great start. No probs, VOA quick and out into the taxi. Puri Raja as always, delivered. 117 & 118 interconnecting ground floor, beach end! I was amazed that we got the interconnecting as tried to book and pay in December, but they would not guarantee it, so guess we were just lucky. Straight to the pool for Bintang and Limecrush. Many familiar faces, IB, Putu, Agung and all the gang happy to welcome us back.
So the adventure begins. A couple of days to let the kids adjust, chill at the beach and the pool, then it was time for a visit to Made and her cooking class. We went via the Orphanage as Bakas and visited the kids we met last year. Great to see the smiles again, and the kids played for hours. Made's cooking class in her home is the best experience. It is great for our kids to see the real Bali homelife, they all participated in the cooking, and we ate a feast, whilst Mades village children put on a traditional dance. A great evening and home to bed. 2 days later and we are off on the Bali Baik tour!! Well, afew sore heads did not help that 7am pick up. Of course, there is always 1 in every group, and we were unfortunate enough to have Brian, American loud mouth through and through! Sorry to all the nice yanks out there, but this guy knew it ALL!!! He really should be a tour guide for everthing everywhere because no matter what someone said, he knew more!! It almost ruined a perfect day, but hey, you have to have some kind of joke to remember the trip by, so this was it. Breakfast at Kintamani was very ordinary, and would definatley ensure we ate prior to leaving next time. All up, a great tour and would recommend it. We asked wayan prior to leaving if we could stop at a school, which we did and this was a highlight for everyone, oh except Brian!!
The kids took a love to Pappa's and we dinned there 4 times this trip. The staff were just awesome, and the music superb. Hubby loved the volcano pizza and had it every time. Also went to the Living room for our wedding anniversary and as always was superb. Loved Cafe warisan too, dont know how I have managed to not visit here before now.
We did the day trip to Lembogan Island, thanks Dennis C as we got a great price prior to leaving. I was alittle disappointed as I thought we would have had more time on the Island, may have been my fault as I think I booked the wrong trip!! Also, did the sunset dinner cruise, was great and the food very good.
Took the kids to Hulu Cafe at Bali Beach Shack, we had been before but didnt tell the kids what it was. Our poor 13 year old son was eaten alive. Great photos, but he could'nt wait to get out!Thoroughly recommend it to all teenage boys! hahahah.
