Arrived home from Bali on Sunday and have been hit with the Bali Blues, so booked another trip and will be back in 17 weeks.
Stayed at the Masa Inn, was impressed with this motel, great value for money but didn't bother with the breaky each morning, as just across the road was a great restaurant that charged 17,000 IDR for a full American breaky.
Decided to try a few different places to eat this trip and ventured out to Sanur. Found a great little restaurant on Jl Sanau Tamblinagan called Cozy Corner, the restaurant is hidden in off the road but was a real gem and a place that i visited regularly on this trip. The menu offers a mixture of Indonesian, Aussie / BBQ and dishes from Holland, every dish i tried was fantastic and i would recommend anything on the BBQ grill menu. They have a band there 3 times a week and i must say the band that plays on Wednesday nights kept our party of 10 very entertained. It was a real buzz and i cant wait to get back there to experience it all again with some of my other friends.
In Kuta / Legian - ate at the usual places JB's in poppies II, bubba gumps, rainbow cafe and the kuta townhouses.
Was impressed with the Kuta Townhouses and the new extension looks great, my parents secured a booking for March as they have stayed there a few times and find the staff and location tops.
Did a day trip to Padang Bai and picked the busiest day ever as a large cruise ship had docked that morning. The locals were out in force and provided much entertainment, once again i was suckered into buying several items i didn't need, but the smiles on their faces said it all. I visited a great little bar called The Sunshine Bar, owned by a guy who works at JB's in poppies, Great atmosphere with some locals playing the guitar and cold bintang and coke for mum.
A funny thing that happened whilst travelling to Padang Bai was a newspaper seller that pulled up beside us whilst stopped on the road. He was selling the Melbourne Herald Sun, which my mum cant live without. The cover looked normal and after handing ONLY 20,000 IDR we were happily on our travels again. 5 minutes up the road, my mum was like what the, the paper went from pages 1, 2, to 77 - at least she got the sport section i thought.
Went to waterbomb park twice and must say this is a great day out and the new slide lived up to its expectations.
All in all, had a great trip, many late nights out at the bounty and plenty of bintang was flowing, cant wait to get back there.
