at Lombok Guide and it lists all the ways to get to Gili T plus some news articles about the Gilis and Lombok. The cheapest way is the public ferry but it takes all day, the next cheapest is probably flying and then there are the "fast boats"...the seas are getting choppy during the wet season.
If you stay on Gili T there are plenty of restaurants and bars, various standards of accom, only transport is horse and cart (chidomo) or walking, you can get boats to nearby Gili Air (quieter) and Gili Meno (quieter still), there is snorkelling, diving and just lazing around. You can take day trips to Lombok also.
