Flew recently, inaugral flight out of Perth, free champers!! TV crew also. Flight full.
On time both ways. Heaps security. Friendly staff, mix Balinese / Aussie. Big comfortable roomy seats compared to Garuda and Qantas. Took own food and continued to buy champers ($6)
Weighed carry on in Perth not on way back. Fairly lenient with excess, let you get away with a couple. Big point..10kg hand carry on as opposed to 7kg with before mentioned
Ok to buy duty free at airport. Used to be cheaper but as priced in $US found cheaper in Perth.
Huge lines on arrival (Monday 2.30pm) in Bali. Rude and inefficient.
Same in Perth (Sat 7.15) 4 flights at same time. Very courteous and efficent.
Found a fair bit of aggression from Taxi drivers and few others over the Govt warnings. Got this when things were quiet over there before. Blame shifting. I tried to explain that Govt in trouble for not having enough warnings after first bomb, so just protecting themselves.
Bombs found in Java while there, and threats against embassy's/ President etc.
Food/drink prices up marginally. Market prices unchanged. Appeared to be as busy as previous visits this year but didn't go to "tourist places". Just noticed driving around.
Left before executions. Was shocked at coverage here when got back. Hardly heard anything in Bali. More strong feelings against Aus Govt for warnings and also anti-porn laws. People already arrested under the laws and everyone very uneasy about it.
