as the media hype has obviously got to him, poor kid. I am not a kid but work with them every day in Bali. Tell Noah that I went to the beach (Legian) yesterday and there were many kids around his age playing, swimming, boogie boarding and they all looked like they were having a great time and it would be a pity for him to miss out on all the fun.

If he's really that nervous, maybe you could suggest to him that you spend more time out of the resort and in the rural parts of Bali, he's probably smart enough to realize that built up areas are more of a concern (to the media, that is). Maybe a few of your first days in Bali seeing the countryside and he may feel a bit calmer.

Good luck, I feel for you too mum, hard spot to be in.
