We spent a month in Bali last August and as usual met some really lovely people. This year hubby and 15 year old son spent most of their days kitesurfing out the front of the Beach Hotel in Sanur as the wind conditions were perfect.
Hubby became friends with some other kite surfers but one in particular - Julien. He is from Switzerland and has taken a year off work and his first stop was Bali, he then met his gorgeous girlfriend Julie (yep it wasnt hard to remember their names) in Thailand (she has also take 1 year off from work to travel - she is also swiss). They travelled all around Thailand and then decided to come to Australia.
They arrived at our home in Newcastle last Wednesday and spent the next 4 days with us. We had a wonderful time showing them all the sites and having a bbq each night.
If it wasnt for Bali we would not have met these wonderful people who we now call our swiss friends. They have invited us to thier home in Switzerland so you never know!!
So if you happen to see a Hiace High Top Camper heading south with 2 good lookin swiss people in the front, say hi to them, they are heading down south towards Melbourne and will be in Perth for New Years.
Cant wait till next year to see who else we can meet up with, its always great to meet others from different countries, we have learnt so much about Switzerland and they too have learnt a heap about Australia.........also think of the dollars there is to be saved when you dont have to pay for accommodation.
