A bit slow in JBR as I have worked every day since return last tue. Mooving past the "snorer" we had a great time. Stayed at Dynasty (a trusty if not getting more expensive place to stay)Had a few cold bintangs first night and we all ended up swimming in pool at 1am: no security to be seen! Had full spa treatment second day at dynasty but admit can get much better and cheaper elsewhere. Did the Dempasar markets trip (revolting) and home via oberoi to Joy jewellery shop. Got some great individual pieces there and good value. Green Garden for dinner: prices have gone up like everything else but still nice food. Went on the Bali Bike trip from Mt Batur to Elephant park. Thought I would die but finished it all the same. Saw a village 1000yrs old where they hang the male placenta's in coconut shells to keep the males in the village! (there were quite a few on the ground broken, and saw the oldest temple in Bali. Not into animals performing tricks, but the elephants were lovely and we were allowed to get up close to them (trunks in the hair,hands etc). Did the Tanah Lot sunset visit and had a Hindu blesing. There is a real "presence" there! Did every shop between Kuta and Legion (well nearly) and had so much excess luggage on return that nice Garuda girl ignored! (thank god for business class for a change). Went to stadium bar to watch AFL/gaelic game and love the sporty atmosphere. Won the trivia game at Dynasty on trivia night and the prize was Bungy jump! Not for me, but brave Colleen with a fear of heights and one too many Bingtangs decided it was time to face her Demons. What a brave girl to dive 40mtrs and trust people you have never laid eyes on before! a true story of survival was told after at La Lucciola. This was a beautiful night and after reading many different BTF views thought it time to try for ourselves. The food was fantastic (best snapper & prawn pie ever), amazing sunset and lots to drink. Only sad thing was the heavy security presence! (last sat night) Had a fantastic Body treatment (the full monty) last day for only around $30 AUS. in Jl Benesari?? Overall we had a great time and although did our own thing when we wanted to, we also got to do a lot of fun things together. Cant wait to get back again, maybe next may.Carmel
