ha ha ha sorry, I had to put that - couldn't resist.
You don't mention where you are staying.
A lot of places have mosquito nets around the bed.
Before you go out at night, close all windows, thoroughly spray the room ( there is probably a can in the room) don't forget to spray under the bed, light a mozzie coil ( Mozzie is sl for Mosquito) and the room should be OK when you get back.
When you're ready for sleep, rub a tiny bit of tropical strength ( containing Deet) onto spots like your ankles and feet, and around your ears.
At 2am, and 3am, and 4 am, you will grateful you did this. There is no missing the high pitched zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz of the female ( yes, only females draw the blood) as they are sniffing around your ears as you sleep.
Look, getting a skitta ( more slang) bite is not the end of the world. Have a scratch, dab on some Calamine lotion with a cotton puff ( if you are a sook) and get on with your holiday.
We live with them all year round, and unless you are completely uncovered at night or get millions of bites, its just one of those things in life.
Cheers
