that victims of terrorists in any way didn't have their wits about them etc.. the nature of terrorism is that it can strike anywhere anytime - and the victims are innocent people that just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
As for risk.. well I personally dread driving to Sydney as we often have to do. I don't know the stats but it would be interesting to see how many people have died on the Pacific Highway between my home and Sydney over the last 6 years.
If one of my family or friends were the victim of a drunk driver I don't know that I would see the offender any differently than the Bali victims families would see Amrosi and co.
