It has been 8 years since I was last in Bali. I understand that the prices have gone up considerably since. However, I'm a bit taken aback when quoted USD $50 + for non aircon rooms. I've even been quoted 30 Euros for a room with a mandi bath.
Are the guesthouse owners and foreign owner/email contacts just quoting over the top prices in hopes that I'll agree?
Is turning up and bargaining still the best way to get a fair going rate on a room?
We'll be there in low season February.
