They're about the same size as the superior rooms opposite reception, but they don't have their own balcony - which may give the impression of them being smaller.
There's a vast world of difference between standard and deluxe. I've stayed in standard, superior and cottage suites at MBR. I'd definitely stay in superior again, but standard I wouldn't. Not because of any road noise (there was none unless you had the rooms directly overlooking the road), but because the rooms are just too far away from reception and the restaurant for breakfast. I also like to sit on a balcony, so I definitely missed that when staying in a standard. But otherwise, the room was all but as good as a superior. Had TV with plenty of channels, big enough bathroom, huge bed, lots of cupboard space, chairs to sit on. Just no balcony.
